MIDDLE EAST
adventures in the Middle East
The beauty of racing in the Middle East is that Abu Dhabi and Dubai have worked so hard at becoming global hubs over the past few years that once you’ve made it to the region for a race or a break, you’re effectively halfway to a second break in Asia or Africa if you can afford it. I don’t think there’s anywhere you can’t fly to from there.
But the Middle East isn’t just a transit hub. While it’s easy to turn to cliched images of skyscrapers and endless bling, below the surface there’s a vibrant multi-cultural world populated by expats and locals alike. Six-star hotels abound, but so too do late-night fish markets and souks heavy with carpet and spices.
Again, these tips are limited by my own experiences, which is why this section remains small for now.
