Behind Le Meridien, on Jimbaran beach, lies a row of huts filled with an extraordinary variety of seafood kept alive with seawater. You make your pick, choose a cooking style and level of heat, then head to a table on the west-facing beach for an extraordinary sunset. Each hut is as good as the next.
SHOPPING
Bali is an excellent place to pick up silver jewellery, as well as the expected local arts and crafts. For traditional Balinese products, Ubud is a good bet, while if you can brave the backpackers in Seminyak, Jalan Raya gives good browse, with high-end products mixed in among the tourist tat.
RELAXING
Bali, like Thailand, is an excellent place to get a cheap but excellent massage -- there have been breaks where we've had as many as three per day... It doesn't really matter where you go; the standard is universally high, and the prices universally low. Tip well!
BALI
With its gorgeous beaches, warm welcome, and delicious seafood, Bali makes for an ideal break between races in Asia. Different parts of the island have very different vibes, from backpackers in Seminyak to families in Jimbaran.
